The Long Kiss Goodnight by Shane Black

This is the type of film that is aging very badly.
Not that it was a masterpiece in 1996, when it opened in cinemas.
But whereas in the present there would be at least some trace of credibility when you watch a film and see the hero shot at, chased, beaten and yet surviving the most terrible attacks because of modern special effects, arguments of technology and other explanations, in this film there seems to be no reason to believe that Mitch Henessey aka Samuel L. Jackson could perform all the magic tricks on display.
Granted, your truly was not happy with the credibility- or rather incredulous stunts - of the latest Mission Impossible and other present day features.
Geena Davis, a good, militant actress, plays Samantha Caine, the heroine of this action movie.
She is a teacher, an average woman, if exceptionally beautiful, a very good cook, mother to eight year old Caitlin.
They live in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, when the protagonist has an accident which brings back memories from a past she had forgotten, as a result of amnesia.
Samantha Caine used to be a professional killer.
She had been one of the best agents of the Chapter.
They are now out to get her, as a result of a conspiracy.
Conspiracies in these sort of motion pictures do a lot of damage.
They must be at least in large part responsible for the masses of fools that believe in the most stupid, outlandish conspiracy theories.
Some of these have Hilary Clinton running a pedophile ring from a pizza restaurant in Washington and other such stories that prove the low IQ levels of those who believe this and other nonsense...and vote for Trump.
Mitch and Samantha are unbeatable in this film.
If there is some entertainment in watching them fight scores of supposedly well trained enemies, it is very light and one must not use the mind too much, if at all.
Because much of what goes on insults the intelligence of the average cinephile.
Or maybe not.
