The very good Band Aid has been nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
Zoe Lister-Jones is the remarkable writer, director and star of this independent- Sundance, right? - and interesting motion picture.
She portrays Anna, who has a tumultuous relationship with Ben aka the equally talented Adam Pally.
Alas, they had been through a traumatic experience, which had taken place before the episode of their life we see in the film.
Positive psychology suggests that we should have a strategy for coping with adversity and trauma - you can find this in the fantastic The How of Happiness by Sonja Lyubomirsky.
After a dramatic event, some have the chance to grow, find strength and become tougher, while others go through Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
This is the case with Anna and the fact that she does not recover her former self, the enchanting spirit she had had before the tragedy, affects Ben as well.
At one stage, he is so overwhelmed that he provokes her and she tells him to get out.
Both protagonists are talented musicians and creative song writers.
They even have the inspiration to write about their differences in their lyrics and thus find a way to vent their frustrations in such a way as to keep their friendship safe from the storm.
Bobby is a very interesting neighbor, who mentions during a short visit his interest in music.
This amusing, friendly, warm man can play all the various drums that exist in the world, djembele seemed to be just one of a multitude.
Nevertheless, the couple do not react to this presentation, not in the first place.
They do see the need for a drummer, so that they could launch their band, quite a while after Bobby first mentioned his talent.
When they visit him, the couple are shocked to find not just one gorgeous woman, but two, who seemed to be more than familiar with the house and the host.
After some exchanges, we learn that they all belong to a support group:
For sex addicts...
Bobby is the sponsor of the stunning women.
He agrees to play with Anna and Ben, but he is soon aggravated by their continuous quarrels.
Hence, he comes one day with the drummer sticks and hands them to them, stating that he does not want to carry on...
But these are your sticks...replies the confused and perhaps aggrieved Ben.
Given that they separate, at least temporarily, Anna would go on to play solo.
There is a chance though that they would get back together again...
