Justin Timberlake is not just an accomplished musician and singer, but he is a very good actor, who gives a remarkable performance as Dylan, the hero of this romantic comedy.
True, I am also not sure he has everything, the dazzle, sparkle, surrounding field distorting ability that someone like the late Steve Jobs had.

He plays a successful, talented young artistic manager that gets a one year contract with GQ, through the efforts of Jamie aka Mila Kunis.
The two are friends, but not lovers and hence, when the young man asks for advice on a place to eat - he is from California and had just moved to New York - she talks about this question as being an invitation for a date.

He denies it, maintaining that he was just interested in having lunch in a decent restaurant and had not meant to invite her.
'Qui s'aiment, se taqinuent'

They enjoy each other's company and then reach the stage where they think that what they have is wonderful and it is a pity that such solid, mature bonds do not seem to be possible among men and women.
Why get emotional when the two can also have sex and have a splendid interaction together, a dynamic not spoiled by reproach, jealousy, scenes and so much of the hubris that destroys otherwise impeccable fellowships.

Discovering that they are so mature and connected, on the same frequency on this side as well, they have sex, promising on a virtual Bible, which keeps moving on an iPad, that this will stay the same, a commitment without emotional derailments.
Nonetheless, the next time they meet, they are both of the opinion that this was a mistake, sex would spoil the unique, superior connection they have, much like Elaine and Jerry had their fling in Seinfeld and then a avoided as much as possible coitus.

But they have intercourse again, up to the moment when Jamie declares she is ready for a loving relationship and she wants a lover, that will briefly be Parker, a pediatric oncologist.
However, after five dates - the rule that the heroine has - they have sex and then it is over, for the man proves inadequate, emotionally and perhaps otherwise too.

Dylan invites Jamie to his home, in California, where she meets his sister and father, Mr. Harper is played by the excellent Richard Jenkins.
The latter is ill, keeps forgetting who people are around him and he is not wearing pants, even in public places.

Nevertheless, he would be essential in helping his son understand that Jamie could be the love of his life.
Therefore, the ailing father prompts his son to act and not lose this unique chance, the way he had in his past.

Finally, the exuberant, wondrous Woody Harrelson has a small role in this movie and as always he brings value, smiles and pleasure to the public.
