Vakuum aka Vacuum is an interesting, if not gigantic motion picture.

Barbara Auer has a difficult task with Meredith, the heroine of the film.
She is not exceedingly endearing, although it is more than understandable and natural.

Nonetheless, it would have helped, I guess,  if someone less rigid, hard, glacial, hostile could have been at the center of this plot.
Granted, that would have been Hollywood, a mainstream fare, less poignant.

And even major productions could go that way.
I have not liked Glenn Close in The Wife.

Not at all!
Even if she was a favorite for the Oscar, for a performance that resembles the one given by Barbara Auer in Vacuum.

The protagonist finds she has some of sets of blood tests that have gone wrong.
Since they indicate HIV positive, it looks absurd.

After all, she only has sex with her husband, she has had no transfusions and doesn't use needles for drugs or anything else.
But it is the husband after all!

Thus we embark on a dark journey of incriminating, forgiveness, redemption, confrontation, lying, depression, vomiting, despair, change, anal sex and debauchery.
