This film has won an astonishing 104 prizes!

This means that the opinion expressed in this note, that it is not really a fantastic feature, is irrelevant, invalid.
For what is worth, the undersigned sees that he is surely wrong, did not get the deeper, majestic, mesmerizing symbols and significances of the motion picture and thus failed to enjoy it.

On the other hand, there is still a feeling that Marcel Iures as Octav is well pass his prime.
Indeed, even when he was considered a local star, this viewer was not a great fan, a subjective opinion

He used to drive a Mercedes SUV and I thought he should have bought a Mercedes, BMW, Austin Martin or whatever he wanted, but not a large vehicle, considering his public involvements.
Octav is a rather old man that has had to fight the authorities to try and get back his property, given that the communists had confiscated and for decades annihilated the concept of private property almost completely.

Eventually, he will get it back, but would tell Spiridon ‘Spiri’ that he is broke now and it seems he would have to sell.
It is a considerable regret to see Victor Rebengiuc, our best actor alive, with George Constantin, he used to be on a level with the best in the world, Jack Nicholson at his zenith, in such a forgettable production.

Victor Rebengiuc plays Spiridon.
Spiri comes with his son, Marcel aka Andi Vasluianu, the star of a newer generation, to meet Octav at the railway station.
They share some memories and when Octav asks about his present state of affairs, Spiri states that he has a pension, which is small, but he makes do with it.

Octave will see people from his past, in the rooms of the formerly impressive mansion, in the garden and in his mind.
However, it all lacks charm, substance, Marcel Iures looks like an ordinary old man, with little, if anything to convey to the public.

Nonetheless, this is just a mistaken assessment and what matters is the formidable success the film has enjoyed in various competitions, festivals, where, again, it has won 104 trophies!
